Statement by Ambassador Sondland in the wake of the attack on the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh

Statement by Ambassador Gordon Sondland
October 29, 2018
Brussels, Belgium

“I wish to express my shock and sadness upon hearing about the terrible attack at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh on Saturday, and my thoughts go out to the victims and their families. As the son of Holocaust survivors, this has personal importance to me and to my family. I echo the sentiment of President Trump when he said, “All of America is in mourning over the mass murder of Jewish Americans.” I am so grateful for all the messages of condolences and support from European Union leaders and from around the world. We stand together in the fight against anti-Semitism.”
