presentations by US and EU experts. A roundtable discussion will
follow involving all participants, stimulated by specially
selected expert discussants. An industry executive will serve
as moderator.

Focus:
Identification of common approaches towards
interoperability. Special attention will be paid to
dissemination of best practices and lessons learned as
well as policy instruments needed for operationalising
interoperability such as regulatory framework,
procurement guidelines, processes of standards setting,
harmonisation and/or adoption. |
Focus:
Successful approaches to advancing patient safety in
health care, including early detection, monitoring and
reporting of adverse events. Focus is on the role and
impact of IT in improving care processes and optimising
clinical interventions. |

of EHR systems as well as best practice in testing and

particular for chronic disease management. Focus topic:
