28 April 2011 Over 50 guests joined Ambassador Kennard to participate to a spirited dialogue with UCLA Professor Peter Baldwin, author of the "Narcissism of Minor Differences: How America and Europe are Alike". Offering a European perspective to the debate was Nicole Bacharan, French historian and political analyst specializing in Transatlantic relations.

U.S. Special Envoy Todd Stern briefs media on preparations for Durban
27 April 2011 Mr. Stern visited in Brussels for the 10th meeting of the Major Economies Forum. Afterwards he gave a press conference at the Press Club Brussels Europe to brief media on how the meetings aim to advance prospects for a successful outcome in Durban.

23 March 2011 Lawrence Strickling (U.S. Department of Commerce) and Daniel Weitzner (White House) visited Brussels to exchange ideas with EU counterparts and brief international media on efforts by the Obama administration to improve the protection of online privacy in the United States.

The U.S. Mission welcomed a group of 10 Serbians MEPs coming under a USNATO tour
22 March 2011 Deputy Chief of Mission Thomas White briefed the group on the strong U.S.-EU relationship and explained how the Mission work changed since the implementation of the Lisbon Treaty. Political Officer David Haugen discussed more deeply on the current process of the Serbian accession to the EU.

3 March 2011 An audience of nearly 200 attended a March 3, 2011 event at the Palais des Beaux-Arts hosted by U.S. Ambassador to the European Union William E. Kennard to celebrate Black History Month with the screening of the film “The Great Debaters” by Denzel Washington. Lead American actress Jurnee Smollett engaged the audience in a lively discussion.

12 January 2011 USEU brought together Afghan journalists and EU-based Journalists in Brussels. The Afghans journalists describes the growing quantity and quality of Afghan media outlets, despite challenges, and invites Western media to offer training to the new generation of Afghan journalists now numbering over 2000.

Film Screening of “Somalia, a Country without Laws”
11 January 2011 United Mission to the EU, in partnership with the European Commission, organized a public discussion with the film "Somalia Land ohne Gesetz” (Somalia, a Country without Laws) by filmmaker Ashwin Raman. A panel of nine Somali community leaders from the US and Europe discussed their engagement with Diaspora communities and their homeland.
